About: Steele's father was single-handedly responsible for the destuction and exile of the shape-shifting race of the Ryffsalli. Because of her rebellious nature and remorse over what her father had done, Steele left home to become a knight for the Ryffsalli in hopes of atoning for some of the damage her father had caused.
When Steele returns home on a military leave she finds her sister in the middle of preparing for an arranged marriage to a man she knows is respected by all the Ryffsalli. When she meets him, she realizes there is more that is desirable about him than just his support of the race she loves, and something mysterious, as well.
